About Me

I earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts degree from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago in 1998 and a Masters of Fine Arts degree from The University of Pennsylvania in 2002. My major area of study was painting, but I also studied printmaking, Art History and Spanish.
My specific areas of interest/specialization are; post war American and European Art, minimalism, post-minimalism, decorative and applied arts and design, architecture and free and open source software.
In addition to translating, I make paintings (see images with text in Spanish here) and I'm always trying to learn more about Gnu/Linux.
I've lived in Spain since 2002 and in Barcelona since 2006.

Software

I use primarily free and open source software such as Xubuntu, OpenOffice and OmegaT (CAT tool), which can be integrated into other workflows relatively easily. I also use Word 2007 and Windows when it's neccesary.
I can work with (probably) all kinds of text and office files (.doc/x .odt .rtf .xls/x .ppt/x .odp .ods etc.) and .pdf, although pdfs may present special problems. I can also translate HTML web pages directly and some XML and PHP files.
