About Me
I earned a Bachelors of Fine Arts from The School of The Art Institute of Chicago in 1998 and a Masters of Fine Arts from The University of Pennsylvania in 2002. My major area of study was painting but I also studied printmaking, Art History and Spanish.
Specifically, minimalism, post-painterly abstraction, post-minimal art, decorative and applied arts and design, architecture and alternative and vernacular architecture, anything Open Source and contemporary art in general are my areas of interest. In addition to translating, I make paintings, I design and build furniture with reused materials and I'm trying to learn more about programming. I have lived in Spain since 2002 and in Barcelona since 2006.
Software
My primary operating system is Xubuntu 9.04 and I use a combination of other Open Source software along with it including OpenOffice 3.1 (good compatibility with .doc), OmegaT (CAT tool) and Tesseract (OCR engine). Although, when it's really necessary I also use MS Office 2007 in Windows.
